Significant buildings in Roche Harbor include the historic Hotel de Haro (right), built to house visiting businessmen and other dignitaries (including President Theodore Roosevelt). The chapel, to the left, was originally a Methodist Church and was also used as a schoolhouse for Company children. In 1956 the Chapel was refurbished and dedicated as a Catholic Church; it is the only privately owned Catholic Church in the United States.
